Looks like smallpox in the sky. I think this is an aspect of modern art,
like the stuff that wins the Tate prize every year, which looks contrived to
me, and to be sold primarily to interior decorators - a very lucrative
market. The present boom in art markets all over the world has really led to
this, most secondary art is today produced with a view to sell to grace the
walls of the houses of the new rich, who have no idea what they like. There
is nothing wrong in this, it is a way to make a living, but it is no
different to the guy who  makes the furnishings for the same house...

If I need to see abstract work, there are much better works available,
including original paintings from Asia, which are available at the price of
a good print, though that is changing, and changing fast. These are Indian:
