Subject: [Leica] Links on the LUG:Brian

Hi Hoppy,
I'm using a webmail client rather than my usual mail at home. Anything in
the <> becomes unlinked. I understand the longer links are not broken if
they <> them, but with the tinyurl ones it might be possible to leave them
unbracketed

Cheers

Alastair I think it is mail client (and its settings) dependant. Here in
Outlook 2003 your bracketed links are just clickable
perfectly. Many times longer links without brackets are broken. Hence the
advent of the duplicating TinyURLs as well. Since those
are shorter you don't normally use the brackets there, or at least I don't.
I'm sure Brian will provide some expert advice on this
all. It does come up now and again. I know that MS software is evil
incarnate for the computer cognoscenti, but it is dominant in
the marketplace. Sorry guys not meaning to stir up trouble there.
Cheers
Geoff
