Chris,

I see the two cameras a little differently. I have the .58 M7 which I  
consider the film version of the M8. AE is wonderful and gives you a  
very accurate, quick working camera. It is an electronic camera so I  
guess that gives it advantages and disadvantages. My MP is the .85  
version. I think it's a wonderful, mechanical camera with a very  
accurate meter. I use it more when I use longer lenses. I consider it  
more like the M6TTL with the retro film wind lever and rewind knob. I  
also like the MP better then the M6 because to me the exposure arrows  
move in the correct direction when you adjust the exposure. I think  
it's personal choice which one you like the best but if I had to  
choose I would take the M7.
