I have a set of letters between my family from 1850 to the present. I have my grandmothers and grandfathers wedding clothes. I have an embroidered panel from a family member dated 1800. My mother kept my fathers letters to his family while he traveled through Africa, up Italy and into Bavaria during the early forties. I have a chair that my great great grandmother was given as a wedding present in 1853. The pain of going through the day to day detritus is more than paid for by finding treasures that reveal the past.
