Go for it. Yes, "the store next door", aka Glazer's Photo, is not  
reputed to "give stuff away for cheap".  However I do enjoy them since  
they are a Leica dealer and usually have a few interesting used R  
components or lenses in addition to their M and Panaleicas.

Plus the chance to BS with other photogs.

Hopefully you will have time to get some free film and tell us about  
the "show"
