LUGgers

Some interesting observations at the 29th used camera show. Information from
Shutterbug Mag (Oct 2007) Classic Camera section. The show attracted 15,000
visitors.

Market Share:
Leica 35.8%
Nikon 11.8%
Hasselblad 7.6%
Canon 7.1%
Rollei 5.4%

Here are what some of your ("Film is Dead") cameras are worth at the show:

Most expensive Leicas: M4 olive body with 50 Elmar f/2.8 lens $36,000
                                    M3 black paint $14,000

M3 DS (Mint) $3200, (Ex+) $1800-$2700
M3 SS (Mint) $3600, (Ex+) $2300-$3200
M2 self timer (Mint) $2300, (Ex+) $1500-2000
M4 chrome (Mint) $2700, (Ex+) $1600-2200, (Ex) $1100-1400
M4 MOT w/o Motor $4100, with Motor $6400
M6 black $1100-1600

Summilux 50/1.4 late version $1100-1400
Noctilux 50/1 $2100-2400

If you have fire-saled your film cameras this information might make you
kick yourself. I remember some years back when digital watches were in
fashion, people used to toss their mechanical watches aside. Now mechanical
watches are regarded (and collected, and proudly used) as hand crafted time
pieces.
