I have owned several of these. The most I ever paid for one was $5 from eBay about a decade back. You will note that the company making this is "K?hn" in Wetzlar. Knut K?hn was the husband of Else K?hn-Leitz, a daughter of Ernst Leitz II and the sister of Ludwig Leitz, the oestensible father of the M series, and of Ernst Leitz III. Else was the one who was tossed into a concentration camp for some weeks during the War for her anti-Nazi rhetoric. The Flexameter is an answer to a question no one ever asked. It has generally been presumed that Ernst Leitz II funded the company to make these just to keep Knut out of trouble. These were made in massive numbers and are a worthy addition to any Leitz collector's holdings. And why are we reading a FS ad on a Tuesday? Marc msmall@aya.yale.edu Cha robh b?s fir gun ghr?s fir!
