Luis and I both bought the .85 Magnifier from HK. Both of us have
complained that the item does not work as promised... the claim is that is
that you can see the 28mm framelines better with the finder than without it
using a .72 body. We are telling the truth. It is a useless gadget.

The 1.25 magnifier, I have not tried, and will not comment on its
usefulness. I have a Leica model, and find it quite useful.

He has offered to refund my purchase price, but not including the $12
shipping from HK and whatever it costs me to ship back to him ( which will
be at least $4.50 and I can not get insurance nor proof of delivery). This
has been rejected by me on the basis that if you misrepresent a product, you
should pay for all costs the buyer has paid when you screw up.

Explaining this to the seller has been a waste of time. He refuses to do
more than return the item price, and I am stuck with the shipping. This is
unacceptable to me. I myself have made errors in description, and have
always asked the buyer to send it back and I have always paid the round trip
shipping as that is only fair for my error. I have high standards, and
require others to do the same.

Because the seller would not admit his responsibility in the matter, and has
treated me ( at least ) pretty badly, I would like to inform the LUG the
sellers name and his EBay account name, in the hopes that others will not
feel positive towards the seller, and find other suppliers of their
photographic equipment.

The EBay seller name is "etefore". His email address is poon

Customer service is an important aspect of doing business, especially on the
Net. When a customer says something, especially when he tells you something
does not work as advertised, you must pay attention to him and act in best
faith.

Suggest you steer clear of him. Even if you do not want to heed my message,
especially do not buy the 0.85 magnifier, it is a useless gadget.

FS Friday... anyone want to try this thing out for $38 including shipping?
I promise it does not work. No returns, as I represent the thing to be
useless.
