Someone from Leica told me that the mechanics of a collapsible lens 
were marginal for an f/2 lens, and that is why later versions only 
came in rigid mounts. OTOH, Cosina made a 50/2 collapsible Heliar 
which is still available at Cameraquest, and which apparently has a 
very similar character to the original Summicron, as well as looking 
the same. Only thing is, you have to provide your own scuffing of the 
front element. :-)
