[Leica] IMG: Hoppy is STILL posting Kangaroo Island pics Part five

This is part five of my travelogue to Kangaroo Island. Nearly to the end. 
The ever-reliable Luis, at least, is managing to keep up
and keep posting comments. 

Thank you everyone for encouragement and suggestions so far. Here's another

This time I am showing Cape Willoughby Lightstation

This one is on the Eastern tip of KI. While much of the tower looks as in 
the 1850's, internally it has been completely changed. 

Nevertheless the location could hardly be more scenic. The current 
caretaker, Mary is a friendly and fascinating genuine Aussie. You
may see her with my son here.

Also shown is the largest fresnel lens set thay I have ever seen. Definitely 
bigger than inyour average manual focus SLR. 

I have shown some of the view from the top. The seas were extremely calm on 
our visit day. The caretaker told me that dolphins had
been frolicking at the foot of the point that morning. 

I asked when the weather was the most interesting (with a view to future 
photography). Mary tells me that they see eleven meter
swells around the September equinox. That would be truly awesome.

The last photograph shows the original keepers cottages which are now 
updated and offered for accommodation.

 

 

Naturally comments and critiques are still welcomed. The specifics posted by 
a number of people so far have been very helpful in
choosing some photographs for show.
