DAG confirmed what I was thinking: the offending material can be removed
from the DR Summicron focus mount. Why not look for a DR mount (or a
beater complete lens) and have the close focus tab removed? That way you
will be able to use the DR Summicron in close focus mode on a film body
& in normal mode on the M8.

 

Just a thought. YMMV.
