Bob,

On the M8 and SF20, set the shutter speed to flash sync. That's  
1/250. Set the SF20 to "A". The SF20 will set itself to whatever ISO  
setting the M8 is set to. Then push the aperture button until the f  
stop on the SF20 screen  blinks and set the distance / f stop with  
the + and - buttons until the f stop is set for the appropriate  
setting. You can set the exposure compensation in the same way.

It works just fine.
