The "how to install the M8 firmware update" documentation ends with this 
paragraph:

     The planned adaptation for the use of the special UV/IR filters has not 
yet been
included in the firmware 1.092.  It will be included in the upcoming version 
1.10, which we expect to make available by the middle of April 2007 on the 
Leica homepage.

Leica Camera probably uses the Roman calendar, which means they'll release 
the update on  a.d. XVI Kalends Maius and have runners deliver it.
