I just got my first IR cut filter... it is a leica E46 UV/IR filter,  
made in Germany...


I even read the short insert info...

of interest the note says...(among other things)...


1. leica 6 bit coded lenses are necessary of the use of this filter  
with the M8...

and further,

2. please ensure that your M8 has a firmware version higher than 1.10...
