Eventually had to send it back with the offending lens for repair. Fine now. I am glad most are happy with their M8s. The IR bit is an absolute deal killer for me. Even using the required IR filters isn't enough. Leica also has to use software fixes to correct problems that the filters cause. That is getting a bit rich in my book.
