Subject: [Leica] Leica on the way back to Wetzlar?
From: leica at screengang.com (Didier Ludwig)

An article in the german mag "Photoscala International" says Leica is
planning the return to Wetzlar; and that a suitable 13 hectare parcel of
land has already been bought by Leitz Park GmbH (belongs to Socrates
Holding, which is owned by ACM Project engineering, one of Leica's new
owners). The article is from march 29th so it's probably not an april fool's
joke.

Seen from the marketing point of view, the change to Solms has always less
than suboptimal, as "Wetzlar" was part of the famous Leica brand. But I
believed they wanted to go back to Wetzlar after they left Canada, but
couldn't find a suitable estate then.
