My terminals have been exposed to the elements, which have included water, fire, bile, and an occasional dripping souvlaki. They keep working fine. About every six months or so I go over them with a Q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol. If you're really that concerned about originality, you might want to set up a small cap fund. Get the cap, stick it in your parts drawer, and replace the cap when it's time to sell the camera. Not a huge tragedy, and I never used neither foresee terminal usage, but I certanily prefer the terminal innards to be covered from any environmental dirt . Tried putting a piece of black insulation tape on it - it didn't last - fell off after 2 days later on. So now I'm in dilemma - to try to acquire the original cap (a small piece of rubber) - suspect it may be outrageously expensive to such tiny piece of rubber, or probably to figure a reasonable alternative... Any suggestions ? Perhaps someone has a few of such not in use and will be willing to sell one or more for a reasonable money ? Thanks, Alex
