Pictures are at: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/rjrose/focus/ It shows you the amount that I had to turn the wrench from perpendicular to the body. I first turned it away from the red dot, and it got worse. Then I turned it toward the red dot, and it got better. The infinity focus seems fine on all my lenses. The rangefinder images line up properly. I used the method found at: http://www.focustestchart.com/focus21.pdf I took the camera off the tripod to do the adjustment. Yes, this was probably nuts; I mean, who would take a wrench to a new $5k camera? I don't quite know what got into me. But, the thing works now and makes me happy. There is a thread at: http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/13933-new-backfocus-thread-so lution.html http://www.leica-camera-user.com/digital-forum/12697-m8-backfocus.html?highl ight=backfocus#post131553 Eduardo Albesi's method is superior to mine, and I will repeat the tests using this approach: "I used a 135, as it was easier to see the OOF, and tethered the camera to my macbook with the Leica capture program, as in that way I was able to see a magnified image. Also, I used the focus target most people are using to test DSLRs (back and front focus are really common problems with all digital cameras). I'll try to find the link to download." "As a last note, it is savvy to put the target on a wall with the camera pointed to it: I don't even want to imagine the Allen/Hex wrench falling on the shutter blades." Next, does anyone want to see pictures of me taking a cleaning swab to my sensor? Yes, I suppose I am nuts. Cheers, Bob Rose
