Sandisk, Lexmark, etc do not make the memory cards for cameras.  They market 
cards made by someone else.  Typically these cards are
made by names like Toshiba, TI, Hitachi, Hyundai, and a host of other IC 
makers.  Usually there is more than 1 vendor per marketer (
so they can beat down the price).

The really good marketers will specify properly the specs to meet.  Others 
buy whatever is cheap.

If you read between the lines, buy from a source that someone else has had 
good luck with.  It gives you the best chance of getting
the card you think you bought.
