Mark -- no gambling in Las Vegas, alas.  In NM the only legal gambling is on
Indian land, though there's plenty of that around Santa Fe for those who
might get the itch.  Las Vegas NM is a smallish college town that serves as
the educational center for Hispanic northern NM.  It's also home to the
oldest synagogue in the state (1884) and had a thriving Jewish community in
the early 1900s.  The synagogue building is still there but now owned by the
Catholic church and used (I think) to house the Newman Center at NM
Highlands University.
