In NM the only legal gambling is on Indian land, though there's plenty of that around Santa Fe for those who might get the itch. Las Vegas NM is a smallish college town that serves as the educational center for Hispanic northern NM. It's also home to the oldest synagogue in the state (1884) and had a thriving Jewish community in the early 1900s.
