Nathan, I clean the sensor on my camera (5D) with sensor swabs - it's really 
no big deal once you've got over the fear factor.

Thanks Don! I have on my agenda to spend some quality time with  
Lightroom this week.

Alastair--there seem to be two specs of dust on my 1D Mark II sensor  
which have resisted all attempts to remove with blown air, and I am  
not willing to try any of the more aggressive solutions involving  
liquids, brushes etc. These two dust specs are only visible in large  
areas of uniform colour (e.g. blue sky), and since I do not take many  
such pictures, it is no big deal just to use the healing brush in  
Photoshop when needed.
