Ilford ironically emulates its RC papers not its rag papers in an entire
inkjet like of plastic looking inkjet papers. RC looking.
Reminds me of the Alan Sherman line:

Here's what I've been waiting for
A genuine copy of a FAKE D'Or.

Its non gloss RC papers do a bad job of emulating fiber.
Except the gloss which looks like nothing but itself.
A plastic RC print. Not ferrotyped real paper.
But Plastic. And I like it.
But would make an inkjet anyday over an RC print.

long got tired of it's "Pearl" which embosses a texture to try to create the
dried down semi gloss F look.
Which unfortunately does not have a texture otherwise that might be a good
idea. Its just the only way they could physically pull it off.
To me if its resin coated I want it to look like its resin coated.
Plastic shiny plastic
And then not use it.

If I'm going into the darkroom I'm bringing real darkroom fiber paper with
me.

Resin is what I make my darkroom sink out of.
Not print my pictures one.
