The D2h was Nikon's first made sensor. From what I've heard it was years in 
the making. They are a small company compared to the big 
C.

The sensor and camera has it's faults, only 4mp, poor high ISO noise, not 
the best dynamic range, meter would die on the early 
versions. Besides all that, I've had 3 or 4 years of great photos with the 
D2h. And I expect to continue using them as the fast AF 
cannot be beat.
