I usually look down at the camera and fiddle with the controls like 
I'm trying to figure out how to make the darned thing work ;-)
The M8 is really not loud but it is a different, longer sound than 
the film M's.  More of a ssnnnkk than a click.  At least you don't 
draw attention to the camera by advancing the film!
