Whereas my constant losing battle with XTOL was the primary reason I
abandoned wet processing for digital. I was obsessively precise with mixing
it with distilled water, storing it in glass bottles that had no trapped
air, and all that. But about half of the rolls of film I developed with XTOL
were ruined, and after losing 20 or 30 rolls in a year to shit developer, I
went out and bought a digital camera and have not turned on the water in my
darkroom since.

Now I have a Photoshop filter that can fool all of you into thinking that
something was shot with Tri-X and developed in XTOL.
