According to the announcement, the fix for the banding/blobbing/ghosting
requires sending the M8 back to Solms. You are supposed to register and
schedule a time to return the M8, which is supposed to take only 10 days.
The announcement also states that we will get two free IR filters sometime
next year to fix the magenta problem.

The Blobbing Banding Ghosting is a real problem, see
http://photobynelsch.smugmug.com/gallery/2167664 and apparently it can't be
fixed by a firmware download.
