When I first moved to San Jose, CA from Chicago in 1977 I was talking on an outside payphone when this beautifully customized 63 Chevy pulled up to the curb. The car literally started jumping up and down on the pavement. The driver saw the amazement in my face and yelled "check this out man" and the front end of the car started doing push-ups !! I asked the guy, how in the world he got his car to do things like that" "Hydraulics man" He then showed me pump system in the trunk....Amazing!! I then noticed the chain steering wheel ...Now I had seen many chain steering wheels in Chicago, but those were full size....His steering wheel was only 6 inches in diameter!! I asked him "What happens if your power steering fails?" "Oh man...I'm f...ked"
