It would be so obvious.  

I can't believe that Leica would have missed that, unless it is a ploy for
charging more for new lenses, and for the modification of old lenses.

But don't the results show that it doesnt matter at all?

Just saw my friend's Nikon D200.

It has a very nice menu of AiS lens selection, so user can pick very fast of
non-cpu lens.  Quickly and no pain.

Instead of forcing us to have our lens modified, simple menu like this will
help!
