I cannot comment with any authority on digital SLR shutter lag but,
with my M camera, I frequently think that I probably just missed the
moment I was after. However, when the chromes come back, there it is.

My one funny experience with SLR shutter lag and mirror black out
involved an SL2 with a 2x converter fronting a 400/6.8. I was
aimlessly shooting a bird perched at our feeder and I noticed a
change of expression between before and after exposure. The bird
seemed to be positively grinning after I took the shot. Sure enough,
when the prints came back...

Please forgive the a poor surface scan of a print but I was giggling
too much to expect anything better.

I am not slow. I can take a hint. I sold the SL2 and haven't looked
back.

John
