I guess I should have said.......

Leica is not a cost nor volume driven camera.  If they took out half the 
parts, the 
camera would cost the same, or more.  If they made 10 times the quantity, 
the price would not drop an iota.

Or in fact higher since the volume (if you call it that) is even lower. See 
the MP special edition without battery, for example.
