Then, if I were you, I would send my equipment to a trusted  technician.  I 
would ask them to re-spec my equipment. 
 
If you are using Leica, Rollei, mechanical Nikon or mechanical  Canon  or 
the 
like, then they are adjustable back to factory specification.
 
Three Technicians I would trust are Ken Ruth, DAG, and Sherry  Krauter.  
There are others.
 
If, as you say, you have been a professional photographer for that long,  
then none of this is news to you. 
 
I still say the subjective response is the only one necessary.  Often  I 
have 
spent big bucks on really impressively specified  equipment, only to  find 
that I hated the pictures, or it did not fit my hand, or it was too light  
or 
too heavy.
 
Only you can answer these questions about your equipment.
