Sorry Mark, but your a bit out of touch inthe printer area.  Both BD and 
myself and others here have been using the newer HP printers and geting 
excellent digital prints from them, especially B&W prints where they were 
the first to get the B&W printing on track.  Canon has color problems and 
ink cartridge problems, where you can only use about half the ink in the 
cartridges before it tells you you are out of ink, and refuses to let you 
print anymore.
