Of course Hoppy I was joking. My knowledge of English is limited, yes I was
talking about eye surgery, the results are excellent!

Salud!

I'm sorry, Luis, I don't quite understand chirurgical.
Are you recommending eye surgery instead of buying correction lenses?
Ouch! That's like a vasectomy as contraception! My eyes are watering and my
legs are crossed ;-)

I've bought two correction lenses at a fairly high expense and they should
be good for me. They are not but the standard -.5 of the
camera works well for me. Still I cannot use glasses to view through the
viewfinder or see the controls very clearly without
glasses.

Salud!
Hoppy

Hoppy, Today with the chirurgical, would be maybe even cheaper!, my wife was
do it, and on one of her eyes had 16 dioptries!

Saludos cordiales,
Luis

Further to this saga. Now that the info is up on the Leica US site you can
read all about it.
So all five settings are exactly as marked on the M7 or earlier.
For the M8 you use 21, 24, 28 for 16, 18, 21 respectively!
Amazing. That means it's not setup specifically for the M8, which you'd
assume the new lens is aimed at. Not so and really a little
counterintuitive should you enter the M system with an 8 and the triple wide
bad boy.
Still it reinforces the suitability for the lens and setup as perfect for
film Ms and also usable on that new fangled digital
thingie.
The only disappointment is that they chose not to build in dioptre
correction which would have been reasonable given the behemoth
dimensions and price of this thing.
Anyone that has priced a dioptre correction lens might be similarly miffed.
You can buy a classic Nikon film SLR for less than one
of those correction lenses here.

Cheers
Hoppy

Actually Hoppy, you set the finder for the focal lenght of the lens you are
attaching, as Tom alluded to several posts ago.
