If you think an M and a P&S handle the same then by all means get the  
P&S. I think differently myself.

The M is a tool and like any tool it suits some but not others. I do  
not like SLRs. I like Ms. It does not follow that Ms are better  
cameras than SLRs; just better for me.

I am not in the market for a digital camera right now but if I was,  
the only one I would consider for serious use would be the M8.
