But once your subject matter needs the flexibility of a film camera and its lenses, the digital loses some of its luster. A few months ago I purchased a Sony H2 digital to play with. I just got back a roll of Kodachrome 25 that has some shots taken with my R8/100APO that I also took with the Sony H2. I was shocked. Stunned beyond belief. The sample I have posted is not scientific. Both cameras were hand held and at ISO 25 with the R8 that may be a factor. I scanned the slide on my trusty Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II, not the latest, but I have always been very satisfied with the 11x14's I make with my Epson 1280. As good or better than if I send a slide in. So, did I waste $400 that I should have spent on a good digital SLR, perhaps even a DMR? Are we all wasting our time with film? http://gallery2.leica-users.org/v/Aram/Comparisons/?g2_fromNavId=x888e4712 I have the whole image and then a crop from the K-25 slide and the H2. Look at them full size and tell me what you think. I just find this hard to believe that there is SO much difference. Not even a close contest.....
