Subject: [Leica] new M mount 35mm wide angle camera

The ceramic pressure plate was both novel, and probably, a good idea. Leica
used to have glass pressure plates, Hasselblad and
other photogrammetric cameras have glass pressure plates on the inside of
the film to provide ultimate flatness. However, if I
remember correctly, the ultimate was the Contax AX that had a vacuum formed
so the film HAD to conform to the pressure plate. Now
that was a good idea.

But practically, this camera, for the piddling sum of a grand, would not
offer this degree of accuracy, IMO.

I go back to marketing hype.
