Perhaps that is a bad example George - pharm products have been
victims of some horribly deadly tampering in recent history, the
companies are trying to protect the user and cover their liability in
those cases.

Perhaps a better example would be a flash card which although tiny,
comes in gigantic plastic bubble cases which take hours of unwieldy
knife-work to open.
