Frankly, if Canon wanted any camera company out of business, they could probably just buy 'em and close the doors. Canon is too smart for that. More competition means more technological advances with accompanying promotional funds thrown into advertising, which does what? It all brings attracts more buyers into the market. And more buyers are good for everyone. After all, given Canon's nearly unlimited resources and current place in pro photography, nobody's going to get the drop on them, technowise. By the way, it's apparently not just the pro market that Canon as devoured.
