[Leica] How to better appreciate different kinds/styles of photographs?

I am not sure appreciation of music can be compared to appreciation of 
photography. Each photography must stand on its own, within seconds of 
viewing. It either speaks to the viewers or it doesn't. A body of work 
though, is different, but still, not like music.
