Use the Kodachrome setting in the Nikon Scan software. It works
great. Some of the older Kodachrome does not work well with Digital
ICE. If you look at the emulsion side of the slide and can see
raised portions - like a bas relief - the slide will probably not
work with Digital ICE. If it's very dirty, you might try it anyway,
but I'd just try to clean those really well and turn off the Digital
ICE. I also remount all of the Kodachromes in Gepe slide mounts
because they hold the film flatter and they never jam. If the
Kodachrome cardboard mounts are bent, they might jam in the slide
feeder. The ROC in the Nikon software also works really well for
restoring color to old slides, but Kodachromes usually haven't faded
as much as the older E-6 films and don't really need it.

Have fun!

Tina
