Be prepared for overcast and fog. Summer is "winter" along the coast
from San Luis Obispo northward. If it's hot in the Central Valley the
marine layer pushes hard against coast dropping visibility. It can be
cold! It doesn't help but the best time for these trips along the
coast is late September and October or January which is Monterey's
"summer".
