The message here to a newly diagnosed epileptic may be that there is much hope of leading a normal life. I doubt that a 12-year-old trying to learn about life with epilepsy wants to or needs to see the rictus that is their potential reality There is a difference between editorial and journalistic. It is not good versus bad, but knowing what you hope to accomplish. Giving hope to the afflicted is one thing. Stimulating donations for research for anti-seizure treatments is a very different thing. Advertising photogs don't expect to present a complete picture of a product.
