It is for real and they spent some computer time optimizing the design now that multicoating helps with flare. It will still give the old Sonnar look but in new manufacture and hopefully a good mount. I still think that if you want the Sonnar look pick up a CZJ, a Russian versian, or either a Canon 50mm F1.5 or the Nikon 1.4.
