Philippe--

That's the actual blossom in full flower, rather a dull little thing  
about the size of a fingernail. You can see the tiny branch holding  
the flower descending from above and attached just down the twig from  
the leaf.

It makes a more extravagant fruit which I used for a Friday Flower a  
while back:
