nah, the focal length doesn't change because you catch the light on a  
smaller frame. Nor does the base length, you only get a tighter  
framing that looks like a longer lens, but if the focusing plane  
doesn't change, and the mount is the same, all remains the same, just  
with a little waste of lens coverage.
