Hello Graham,

Know what you mean, but no time for hoofing this trip! :-)

Another Leica photographer who runs the "Oxford Abroad" programs at Oxford
has kindly arranged a private photographic visit to Broughton on the Tuesday
of my visit. http://www.broughtoncastle.com/ Hope the weather is good! At
least THIS private house was open to the University and was also used for a
number of films.

BTW, I already know the gateway routine. That can work well when the house
is not too distant. Sometimes there is access to the church on the grounds
which offers a closer view, but you have already photographed those
extremely well! :-)

Know what you mean about the lanes and this trip I'll have a navigator with
me who has a keen eye for scenery and we'll have the hood down if it's not
raining. That will leave my eyes open for avoiding the monster farm
machinery which has been known to pop out of the hedges at warp speed! :-)

Best Regards,

William
