It certainly will work, but Save For Web will default to a GIF file, which is OK for a casual web graphic, but not really ideal for a photo. That's because the colours are a much reduced palette. So, if you use the SAVE FOR WEB option, be careful to save as jpg rather than GIF Ric's suggestion will certainly give you an appropriate size though. Here's an alternative you may like to try COPY YOUR IMAGE FIRST as you are downgrading the file. This is for PSCS2. It's not the shortest method but simplest to explain with the menus. Firstly I presume you are starting with a scan. If it is a 16 Bit TIFF (which gives superior results at the price of a bigger file) you need to : Image>Mode>8 Bits/channel> Image>Image Size>(say ~800 pixels for long dimension and ~100pixels/inch for resolution) You must have the proportions and resample boxes checked File >save as >jpg Back on your post, the colour is very delicate, isn't it? Must be a NOCT thing since you are using Velvia! Well done starting a PAW. As the pig said to the chicken re the bacon & egg breakfast... now that's commitment Cheers Hoppy ------------------------------ Message: 18 Date: Tue, 30 May 2006 22:57:47 -0400 From: Ric Carter <ricc@mindspring.com> Subject: Re: [Leica] my first PAW To: Leica Users Group <lug@leica-users.org> Message-ID: <0E7FB498-BC01-4E5C-9AB5-6806E972C515@mindspring.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Bradley-- Looks good to me. I had it suggested to me that they should be held to about 100K. Using PhotoShop, do "save for web" and it lets you size to the well chosen 800 pixels you did and then set quality by targeting file size in the little pull down menu. Nice shot.
