AAA Road maps.    Low tech, all the way...

Seriously..... a lot of these consumer grade GPS units are a bit 
"underpowered" for their intended purpose....  Do not focus so hard
on features, as much as usability in the field.  You need something that 
will pull out the signal from the environment ( clouds,
gunpowder residue, etc.)
