I was walking across a field on the top of a mountain over 10,000
feet high. I was by far the tallest thing around when it started
hailing and then lightning. Lightning struck the ground very near me
and my hair stood on end for hours. I fell to the ground and made
myself as small as possible, throwing my camera bag and monopod away
from me until the storm passed. This was the night of September
10th, 2001. When I got down off the mountain the next day I found
out about the World Trade Center. But I also found out that the
doctors had drunk all of the rest of my Lagavulin. :-( Believe me,
they will never make that mistake again!
