I feel the same way and try to outquess publishers by cropping the photo a way that I like but that might fit with their needs, which usually involves leaving space at the top for titles. I have to have a different mindset for the photos that I send for stock and those that I plan to print for galleries. You can sometimes use the same photos but they have to be cropped entirely differently. I try to keep that in mind when I'm shooting and take lots of different possibilities.
